Following a winding professional road that included student affairs, nonprofit management, and electoral campaign work (yep, really!) Jillian Carpenter found her way to birthwork in 2018. Over the past 7+ years, she has supported over 100 Twin Cities families with diverse family structures, bodies, preferences, and outcomes.
Jillian's personal mission is to bring a trauma-informed, Reproductive Justice* lens to pregnancy, birth, and postpartum support.
She hopes to empower pregnant people with evidence-based education, embodiment practices, frameworks for skill development, and material resources, so that they can advocate for a birth story they love and, in the process, unearth their innate capability to create a more just & loving world for their children to inherit -- easy peasy, right?!
Jillian is a mom to two daughters, Lottie (6 years) and Evangeline (2 years). During her first birth, she rocked a 3 day induction at the hospital, and with her second, she had a candlelit waterbirth in her bedroom; both were positive, empowering experiences that were the right decision for her. She believes you know what's right for you!
Jillian has personal experience with pregnancy loss, infertility (IVF), Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders, neurodivergence, and weight bias in the healthcare system. She firmly believes all bodies are good bodies, and she considers it a special honor to serve families facing these challenges.
